Like the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium is a source of pride for the Scottish city and its inhabitants. During the Rugby World Cup 2007, it will once again be at the centre of the festivities around this event.

Big screens will be provided to allow the numerous Rugby enthusiasts to watch many live broadcasts of matches. The Scottish Thistle matches at Stade Geoffroy Guichard in Saint Etienne will of course be followed intently, as will many other World Cup performances.

Recreational activities and musical performances will precede the two matches at Murrayfield, to start up again after the final whistle has blown. A number of satellite activities will give young Scots the opportunity to participate in the celebration.

A French Street Market will set up shop in the city, lending Edinburgh a bit of the flavour of the World Cup host country.

Air show
The UK's Royal Air Force will do a fly past over the city.
